The building was constructed in 1930 by an American who loved Barga.

Renovation undertaken in the recent years ; New roof with insulation, rewiring, gas central heating, satellite dish, some of the floors have been renewed but most of the flooring is original and have been mechanically polished taking them back to the original state. All the above renovation work was undertaken in the period of 1998 to 2013.

Gardens – there are lawns, paved areas, shaded spaces used for outdoor living and a short driveway. The grounds are fenced off and there are 2 gates one for pedestrians and the other for a car. The drive can comfortably park 3 cars.
